Job summary

Kentfield and San Francisco Specialty Hospital in Marin County is seeking a Per Diem Dietary Aide to support our patient-centered food service. You will prepare meals, assemble patient trays, deliver trays, and assist in the cafeteria, while maintaining sanitary protocols.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; food handling certification per state rules; healthcare food service experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience as a dietary aide in lieu of education will be considered.
• Food handling certification as required by State regulations.
• Six (6) months previous food service experience preferred.
• Previous healthcare food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food items and assembles patient trays.
• Delivers patient trays and may serve in the cafeteria.
• Cleans up kitchen and dining area; handles dishwashing.
• May accept delivery of dietary supplies and inspect for freshness.
• Assist in rotation of food stores and monitor expiration dates.

At Kentfield, we work in close partnership with patients and families to help achieve the best possible outcomes.POSITION SUMMARY Performs a variety of duties necessary for the operation of the food service department. Prepares food items and assembles prepared foods for patient trays, tray line assembly, delivers trays, may serve in the cafeteria. Responsible for clean up in kitchen and dining room, including dish washing. Cashiering duties in cafeteria as needed. May accept delivery of dietary supplies including inspection of products to insure freshness and accuracy of delivery. Also assists in the rotation of food stores and monitors food expiration dates.This is a Per Diem position based in our Marin facility.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent required.Two (2) years of experience as a dietary aide in lieu of education will be considered.Food handling certification as required by State regulations.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:Six (6) months previous food service experience preferred.Previous healthcare food service experience preferred. Knowledge of therapeutic diets is preferred.Ability to project a professional image. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.CERTIFICATES, LICENSURES, REGISTRATIONS: Food handling certification as required by State regulations.The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
