Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist with meal service, tray setup, dishwashing, and sanitation in a hospital dining setting. Position reports to the Cook and Dietary supervisor.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; ability to follow recipes and procedures; must obtain a food handler certificate. Physical duties include standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• Must learn food service routine within a short period.
• Ability to set up meal trays and strip down returned trays.
• Must be able to follow recipes and read technical procedures.
• Must obtain and maintain a food handlers’ certificate.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform basic kitchen tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays and assist with serving meals.
• Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and kitchen floors.
• Carry out trash disposal and safe storage of groceries.
• Operate the dishwasher and monitor sanitation parameters.
• Participate in orientation and training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with staff across departments.
