Job summary

Putnam County Hospital seeks a dietary aide to support patient meals and cafeteria service with safety and quality focus. You will count and record cash handling where applicable and assist with patient dietary needs under nurse direction.

Responsibilities include serving breakfast and lunches, maintaining clean dining areas, following Indiana food code, and protecting patient confidentiality in line with HIPAA. You will work with limited supervision and demonstrate reliable teamwork.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation required.
• Serve Safe Certification within 12 months of hire.
• Leadership skills with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of textured and therapeutic diets.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
• HIPAA guidelines adherence and hospital policies.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Counts money and records according to business office practices.
• Serve breakfast for patients and lunches for staff/visitors in cafeteria.
• Complies with health and safety regulations per Indiana food code.
• Adheres to departmental policies and procedures.
• Stocks condiment and cereal areas in kitchen and cafeteria.
• Fulfill nurse requests for patient dietary needs and wash dishes.
• Keeps tables and cafeteria line clean.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
