Job summary

Palm Valley Post Acute is seeking a Dietary Aide General Purpose to join our kitchen team. You will learn food service routines, help set up meal trays, assist with serving meals, and maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, the ability to read recipes and procedures, and the stamina to lift up to 50 pounds while working with dietary staff across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain food handlers' certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
• Ability to effectively present information to managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routine quickly.
• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and wash dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine.
• Observe the water temperatures of the dishwasher during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and groceries.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
