Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach is seeking a patient meal service associate to provide daily food service on assigned units, including menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery, and pickup with attention to special requests and patient preferences.

You will work with nursing and nutrition staff, assist the dietitian with monitoring patients on NPO or liquid diets, and ensure timely service while adhering to safety and dietary guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or hospital food service preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient meal service on assigned units, including menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery and pickup, and special requests.
• Communicate patient food issues to Nutrition and Food Services.
• Coordinate with nursing staff regarding patient nutrition needs and unit food services.
• Assist dietitian with monitoring patients who are NPO, on liquid diets, or whose intake is being recorded.
• Ensure timely service and accuracy of physician-ordered modified diets.
• Be familiar with dietary restrictions on special/modified diets to meet patient needs.
• Maintain quality service reflected in patient satisfaction surveys.
• Report incidents to supervisor immediately.
• Follow hospital safety and uniform policies and participate in a safe work environment.
