Job summary

Gates House, a community of Navion Senior Living, is seeking cooks to assist in the preparation, oversight, and serving of meals. Our cooks deliver top-notch food service in a high-quality Assisted Living and Memory Care Community with a focus on resident satisfaction.

This is a Part-Time opportunity to join our team and contribute to a caring dining experience for residents. Tapcheck payment option is available for earned wages, enhancing financial flexibility for team members.

Qualifications

• ServSafe or able to participate in food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified.
• High School diploma or GED accepted.
• Culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred.
• One year of job-related experience including food preparation and therapeutic diets.
• Must be 16 years or older.
• Three years’ experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred.
• Culinary arts experience preferred.
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred.
• Ability to work in a resident-care environment with safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare palatable foods that are appetizing in appearance.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitary requirements.
• Learn basic tasks and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Be pleasant, friendly and helpful at all times ensuring proper and timely service.
• Follow dress requirements and maintain a neat appearance.

• Maintains a current ServSafe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified
• High School diploma or GED accepted
• A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred
• One (1) year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
• Must be 16 years or older.
• Three years’ experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred
• Culinary arts experience preferred
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others
• Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment
