Job summary

Recover-Care Heartland in Kansas is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal service for patients and staff in the nursing center. You will assist cooks, prepare nourishments, desserts, salads, and beverages, and follow production sheets. Strong communication and English reading skills are required.

Experience in food service or long-term care is helpful, and benefits are provided. This position is on-site with a comprehensive benefit package for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• The dietary aide candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand English for business necessity.
• Basic understanding of sanitation, organization and safety.
• Prior experience in food service preferred.
• Prior experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists cook as directed by the food service director.
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours beverages.
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.
