Job summary

Aztec Healthcare is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist in meal preparation, service, and cleanup for residents in the nursing center. You will help maintain an attractive, sanitary dining room and ensure timely meal delivery according to schedules.

Responsibilities include assisting with food ordering, storage and prep under supervision, supporting cooks, labeling nourishments, and following production sheets. You’ll also help with cleaning and dishwashing as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of work in a large-scale cooking operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food ordering, storage and preparation as designated by the supervisor.
• Assist cooks as directed by the supervisor.
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entree foods into dishes; pours beverages.
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.
• Completes pre-preparation as needed including washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits to prepare for use; slices meat and weighs portions for menu compliance and nutrition accuracy.
• Follows the cleaning schedule; cleans equipment and work area after each use; sweeps and mops kitchen floors; takes trash to dumpster; washes pots and pans as assigned.
• Assumes responsibility for meeting meal schedules.
• Washes dishes and silverware according to dishwashing procedures; puts clean dishes away; assists with cleaning of kitchen as assigned.
