Job summary

Spring River Rehabilitation & Care Center in Roswell, NM is seeking a dependable Dietary Aide to support our Food & Nutrition Services team. You will assist with meal prep, food service, and maintaining a sanitary kitchen environment, while ensuring meals meet physician orders and resident preferences.

You will work closely with the Dietary Manager, RD, and care team to provide nutritious, safely prepared meals and exceptional resident service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant healthcare or dietary experience is a plus.
• Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain if required).
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and safe handling practices preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and therapeutic diet instructions.
• Reliable attendance and commitment to resident service.
• Genuine passion for serving seniors and contributing to quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion meals, snacks, beverages, and nutritional supplements per orders and recipes.
• Serve meals in a courteous, timely, and professional manner to residents.
• Assist residents during meal service, promoting dignity and independence.
• Set up, clean, and sanitize dining rooms, areas, and equipment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines to meet regulations.
• Wash dishes and kitchen equipment using approved sanitation procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing supplies with inventory control.
• Report equipment issues, shortages, and safety concerns to the Dietary Manager.
• Follow resident meal preferences, allergies, and therapeutic diets.
