Responsibilities include assisting with ordering, preparation, labeling nourishments, and following production sheets. The job requires basic cooking experience and adherence to sanitation practices to ensure resident safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year in a large-scale cooking operation preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food ordering, storage and preparation as designated by supervisor.
• Assist cooks as directed by supervisor.
• Prepare and label nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepare portions of desserts, salads and other foods; pour beverages.
• Follow production sheets and pre-preparation guidelines.
• Perform pre-preparation tasks: wash, peel, cut vegetables/fruits; slice meat; weigh for nutrition accuracy.
• Washes dishes and keeps the kitchen and equipment clean; follow cleaning schedule.
