Job summary

Pearl of Elk Grove is seeking a Dietary Aide to perform designated work and cleaning routines within the Dietary Department, reporting to the Dietary Manager. The role emphasizes following recipes, tray cards and diet orders, with a focus on sanitation and resident care.

Responsibilities include assisting the cook, meeting meal times, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and policies while ensuring a respectful, safe dining environment for residents.

Qualifications

• High School graduate; institutional dietary service experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Numerical accountability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals; good motor coordination required.
• Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during emergencies; patient and tolerant toward staff, residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
• Assist the cook in the preparation and service of meals.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Follow Federal and State long-term care regulations and Dietary Department Policy and Procedures.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts and serving meals.
• Set up the dining room and serve the residents.
• Wash and store dishes.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Follow reporting procedures for supplies and equipment needs.
