Job summary

Cal Block, LLC is seeking a Dietary Aide to support the Dietary Department by performing routine work, assisting the cook with meals and serving residents. You will follow sanitation and safety policies, meet meal times and maintain orderly dining areas.

The role requires flexibility for shifts and a patient, cooperative approach toward staff, residents and families while ensuring HIPAA compliance and safe handling of food and cleaning chemicals.

Qualifications

• High School graduate preferred.
• Ability to read and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine tasks with interruptions.
• Accurate measurement of ingredients and cleaning chemicals; good motor coordination.
• Flexible hours, including emergencies; patient and tolerant with staff, residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned.
• Assist the cook in meal preparation and service.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Department policies.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts and serving meals.
• Set up dining room and serve residents; wash and store dishes.
• Report supplies and equipment needs and any repair needs.
• Follow facility infection control policies and safety procedures.
• Maintain high sanitation and safe work environment.
