Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking an entry-level Food Service Associate to support dietary and food service operations across locations. You will assist with menu planning, food preparation, tray assembly, delivery, and sanitation, ensuring meals align with dietary orders and patient needs.

The role emphasizes hands-on service in a hospital environment, with rotation across locations, adherence to safety protocols, and opportunities for growth within Tufts Medicine’s network.

Qualifications

• Food service experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year in hospital food services.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and updates diet order information to ensure correct patient meals.
• Gathers patient food preferences and notifies dietitian of issues.
• Assists with menu selection and modifies diets as assigned.
• Delivers and collects patient trays.
• Maintains hygiene: PPE, handwashing, sanitation logs.
• Stocks nursing pantries and ensures FIFO inventory.
• Prepares standard and special menu items and portion sizes.
• Cleans and sanitizes dishes, equipment, and work areas.
