Job summary

The Dietary Aide at Hackensack Meridian Health assists in serving meals to patients across the lifespan, as well as visitors and staff, ensuring quality service and patient comfort.

Work includes weekend shifts and five of six holidays on a rotating schedule, with a focus on teamwork, clear communication, and adherence to safety and dietary guidelines.

No prior nutrition experience is required, but prior customer service is a plus, and the role offers opportunities to grow within the hospital.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Excellent customer service skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in serving meals to patients, visitors and staff across the lifespan.
• Support dietary services in meal distribution and adhere to safety and dietary guidelines.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• To work every weekend.
• To work five (5) out of six (6) holidays.
• To work rotating schedule/shifts based on needs.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Previous experience with or knowledge of nutrition/dietetics.
• Excellent customer service skills.
