Job summary

Family Health West in Fruita, Colorado is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to join our team. You’ll support daily kitchen operations, read recipes, prepare meals, and assist patients with menus in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time role offers the wage starting at $16.60 per hour, with scheduling vary, and a comprehensive benefits package including EAP, a 403(b) plan with 4% match, medical and vision options, and more.

The Dietary Aide must be reliable and punctual and work the variable hours determined by the schedule. This may include both morning and evening shifts, weekends and holidays. The kitchen is open from 5:00am to 8:00pm and during special events. Must be able to read and speak English. Must be able to communicate both verbally and through email on a daily basis. They work in tight spaces in the heat and are required to use commercial foodservice equipment. This is often a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to multitask. Must be organized. Uses technology on a daily basis to perform work duties. Dietary Aides must be able to visually read recipes and execute them without error. Dietary aides wash dishes and other foodservice equipment. Must be physically able to sweep and mop floors, transport stock, lift heavy boxes and stand for most of the shift. Must have full range of motion needed for all dietary duties. Dietary aides work both in the kitchen and with patients. They must adhere to all FHW policies and HAACP/ServSafe Guidelines. This is not a remote position. The wage for this position starts at $16.60 per hour and goes up based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Organize serving and calculating of food and beverage.
• Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.
• Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
• Communicate with each patient to help with menu selection with regards to current diet order.
• Cleaning duties including dishes, pot and pans; tables, counters and machinery.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Prepare meals ordered by staff, doctors and guests in cafeteria.
• Participate as a team member and is accountable for own work responsibilities.
• Foster relationships with all peers (regardless of work area) to meet internal and external customer needs.
• Maintain positive working relationships with peers, management, and customers.
• Other job related duties as assigned.

SCHEDULE:

Schedule varies, early mornings, afternoons, and evenings, including weekend shifts. Full-Time candidates must be able to work both morning and evenings, shifts weekdays and weekends.

WAGE RANGE: The wage for this position starts at $16.60 and goes up based on experience.

Must obtain Mesa County Food Handlers card or ServSafe Certification within 60 days of hire.
