Forest Acres Post Acute in Downtown Columbia, SC seeks a Dietary Aide to support meal services for residents in a 132-bed skilled nursing and rehab facility. You will assist with meal prep, tray assembly, serving meals, and maintaining a clean kitchen and dining area.

The role requires reading technical procedures, basic math, and a food handler's certificate. Prior dietary experience is a plus, with opportunities for growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation and tray assembly.
• Serve meals with a friendly smile.
• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean and organized.
• Wash dishes and sanitize equipment.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Work alongside the team to provide exceptional resident care.
• Learn food‑service routines quickly.
• Set up meal trays and strip down returned trays for washing.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the start of the shift.
• Observe water temperatures during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate the dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
• Carry out trash and garbage removal.
• Store and organize groceries in a safe and orderly manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary, and assist as needed by the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
