Job summary

Mississippi County Hospital System is seeking a Food Service Aide for a rotating day shift. You will prepare and pre-portion foods according to planned menus and production sheets, and assist in tray line setup and service while maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining proper food temperatures, serving attractive, well-prepared meals, and following policies. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with strong communication and arithmetic skills expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Ability to interpret and implement written or oral policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and/or pre-portions food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu and production sheets.
• Handles food using proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and procedures.
• Ensures that food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner and uses proper tasting technique to ensure quality taste and adaptability prior to service.
• Maintains the proper temperature of food during preparation and service; records temperatures according to policy.
• Assists with setup of the tray line; assembles trays according to the planned menu, tray tickets, stated portion, resident preferences, and diet order; assists in serving and running the cash register on the food line.
