Job summary

Pelican Health Thomasville is seeking a Dietary Aide to support the dietary team in daily meal preparation following established menus and sanitary standards. You will assist in serving meals, set up dining areas, and help with cleaning and dishwashing while ensuring utensils are ready for the next meal.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with hospital or long-term care dietary experience preferred, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.
• Experience in hospital or long-term care facility dietary department preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dietary Staff with the daily preparation of resident meals in accordance with established menus, recipes, and sanitary standards.
• Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed.
• Assist cook in preparing meals.
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
• Obtain food supplies for next meal.
• Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assure that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal.
