Job summary

Riverfront Rehab is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal service and maintain sanitary food service areas. You will contribute to a compassionate, team-focused environment and assist in some meal preparation.

The position is full-time in a care setting with a starting rate of $15.92 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental & vision insurance, 401K, holiday pay, PTO, overtime, same-day pay, referral bonus and a weekly Thankful Thursday event.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand directions in English.
• Previous Food Service Aide experience is helpful.
• Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.

Responsibilities

• Report to duty on time in uniform.
• Handle food and equipment per sanitation policies.
• Follow safety regulations for operating equipment.
• Deliver food carts and trays to resident rooms and dining room.
• Serve in dining rooms.
• Prepare and deliver snacks as directed.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning tasks.
• Report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Ensure compassionate service to residents and families.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Food Service Aide performs a variety of food service functions in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas, facilities and equipment. He/she may also assist in some aspects of food preparation.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITLES:

• 1 Reports at assigned time, in uniform, ready for duty;


• 2 Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures;


• 3 Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment;


• 4 Delivers food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas, including resident rooms and dining room, as instructed by supervisor;


• 5 Serve – in dining rooms;


• 6 Prepare and deliver snacks as directed;


• 7 Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures;


• 8 Reports any discrepancies in his/her area to department supervisor;


• 9 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;


• 10 Performs related work as assigned.

SPECIFIC ECONOMIC/ VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 1 Ability to read, write, understand directions in English language. Previous Food Service Aide experience is helpful.

JOB SKILLS:

• 1 Working knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food.


• 2 Working knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.


• 3 Ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified and serve food in an appetizing manner.


• 4 Possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.


• 5 Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral directions in the English language.


• 6 Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.

PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES:

• 1 Interacts with residents, families, visitors and employees.


• 2 Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands‑on intervention/participation may be required.
