Job summary

Walnut Hills, part of Greencroft Communities, is seeking a Culinary Services Aide for the full-time evening shift. The role supports kitchen and dining areas, with responsibilities ranging from dishwashing to basic food prep, in a nonprofit, resident‑focused environment.

No culinary background is required as training is provided; previous restaurant or healthcare experience is welcome but not necessary. The job emphasizes reliability, teamwork and attention to detail in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize dishes, silverware, glasses, cookware and kitchen tools.
• Keep dishwashing stations and surrounding areas neat and ready for use.
• Assist culinary staff with basic food preparation (wash/cut produce, prepare salads, assemble desserts).
• Prepare dining spaces before meals and tidy afterward.
• Move food carts, dishes and supplies throughout the community.
• Take out waste and maintain clean, sanitary work areas.
• Follow established food-safety, sanitation, and infection-prevention practices.
• Support meals and service to run efficiently with coworkers.

A Typical Day

As a Culinary Services Aide, you'll support both the kitchen and dining areas throughout your shift. Your work may include:

• Cleaning and sanitizing dishes, silverware, glasses, cookware, and kitchen tools
• Keeping dishwashing stations and surrounding kitchen areas neat and ready for use
• Helping culinary staff with basic food preparation, such as washing and cutting produce, preparing salads, or assembling desserts
• Getting dining spaces ready before meals and helping keep them organized afterward
• Moving food carts, dishes, and other supplies throughout the community
• Taking out waste and maintaining clean, sanitary work areas
• Following established food-safety, sanitation, and infection-prevention practices
• Pitching in with coworkers to help meals and service run efficiently

You'll be an important part of the team that helps residents enjoy a pleasant and well-organized dining experience.

What the Job Requires

This is an active position, and you'll spend much of your shift on your feet. Candidates should be able to:

• Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
• Frequently lift or handle items weighing up to 10 pounds
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements
• Safely complete assigned duties while following sanitation and infection-prevention requirements
