Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Dietary Aide/Cook in our Assisted Living and Memory Care facility. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing nutritious and delicious meals to our residents. You will assist in meal preparation, serving, and clean-up, ensuring dietary needs are met and meals are enjoyable. Additionally, you will uphold high standards of cleanliness and food safety in the kitchen and dining areas.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in preparing and serving meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and suitable for residents' dietary needs.
  2. Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency and quality.
  3. Serve meals to residents in a courteous and professional manner, accommodating special requests and dietary restrictions.
  4. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas according to established standards.
  5. Maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies, notifying supervisor of any shortages or discrepancies.
  6. Assist with menu planning and development under the direction of the Dietary Manager.
  7. Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of food items.
  8. Assist with dishwashing and kitchen clean-up as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary training or certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Dietary Aide, Cook, or similar role, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines accurately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry trays, and perform tasks requiring bending and stooping.
Working Conditions:
  • Shift-based work including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Work environment includes exposure to hot surfaces, sharp utensils, and potentially hazardous chemicals.
  • Physical demands include standing for extended periods and lifting/carrying heavy trays or containers.
