Job summary

Garden Court Chateau in Grand Rapids, MN is seeking part-time Dietary Cooks to plan, prepare, cook and serve meals for residents and visitors. This role requires adherence to sanitation standards, accurate temperatures, and meeting nutritional needs of seniors.

Qualifications include reading recipes, math, ServSafe (or willingness to obtain), and strong communication with residents and families. Part-time hours include day shifts with potential for additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure residents' nutritional needs and any diet restrictions are met.
• Demonstrate commitment to high-quality meals for residents and guests.
• Assist in organizing community events and hosting activities.
• Maintain positive relationships with residents, families and coworkers.

Job description

Garden Court Chateau is seeking Dietary Cooks for part-time positions.

Cook Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Plan, prepare, cook and serve meals and snacks to residents, and when appropriate their family members or visitors.
• Strictly adhere to sanitary guidelines, includes monitoring of food temperatures and cleaning of the kitchen and all cookware, dishes, etc.
• Ensure the nutritional needs of the residents are met, including special diet restrictions
• Demonstrate a sincere interest in the quality of meals being served to residents and guests.
• Help organize and host community events such as family picnics, cookouts, holiday dinners, community coffee, etc.
• Maintain good relationships with residents, family members, community guests, co-workers, etc.

Cook Job Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow recipes, labels, policies and procedures.
• Ability to write and make simple calculations.
• ServSafe certification, or agreement to complete certification at the next possible opportunity.
• Must have a desire to work with seniors.
• Requires level of knowledge normally required in the course of obtaining a high school diploma.
• Work effectively with general supervision, ability to organize and manage own work load in a busy environment. Some independent actions are required.
• Ability to communicate well with residents and families promoting customer service and respect.
• Meet the physical job demands of the position.

Experience

Prior commercial cooking experience is preferred, but not required.

Shift Available

7am - 3pm, 3pm-8pm

Garden Court Chateau is located in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Our assisted living apartments each feature a cozy living area. They include a full bathroom with shower and are available in studio style floor plans. The building has a shared living space and a roll‑in (Euro) bathroom.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $18.00 to $19.50 /hour
