Job Title: Dietary Aide and Cashier Department: Nutritional Services
Salary: $16.07 - $21.62 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
SUMMARY: Prepares and cleans up meals for patients, employees, customers, and special events by performing various duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains standards of quality food production with portion control and handles food according to sanitary standards. Checks patient census and correct diet. Prepares sides for special OB meals. Assists with patient room service, answers phones, takes and places food orders, delivers meal carts. Operates dishwashing machine safely. Restocks condiments, paper products, retail, resiliency, and break rooms. Assists customers at serving lines and cash register. Cleans dining room, kitchen, and dish room. Supports organizational policies and standards required for accreditation. Employees may perform other duties as assigned. Requirements reflect minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED preferred. Food service experience and understanding of sanitation are desired but not required; on-the-job training provided.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic math operations and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to follow instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regular standing, handling, talking, tasting, smelling; walking, reaching; occasional sitting, climbing, stooping; lifting up to 50 pounds; vision requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Exposure to humid conditions, moving parts, fumes, chemicals; moderate noise. Complies with OSHA standards.
