Job summary

Eastern Health Group seeks a Dietary Aide to assist in food preparation and serving while upholding clean and sanitary kitchen and dining areas under the Dietary Director's supervision. You will participate in tray setup, meal delivery, and ensuring menu/diet accuracy for residents.

The role emphasizes teamwork, strong English communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

Experience in hospital or long-term care dietary department preferred.
Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
Highest level of professionalism with confidentiality.
Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.

Responsibilities

Meet physical and sensory requirements and work in the described environment.
Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives to improve the customer experience and workflow.
Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks.
Check trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy.
Set up trays and deliver meals to residents.
Set up serving line with cold foods and utensils as instructed.
Work on central tray service line and position food on trays per diet requirements.
Deliver loaded food carts to corridor and return unloaded carts to dish washing area.
Wash dishes, clean equipment, and surfaces; mop floors as assigned.
Stock and store food items and maintain inventory for next meals.
