This role emphasizes accuracy with diet cards and teamwork with the kitchen and nursing staff. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and preferred one year of institutional food service experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Prefer one year experience as a food service aide in an institutional setting.
• Computer skills are required.
• Meets state and federal background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Handles and stores all food according to facility procedures and safety guidelines.
• Assists with food preparation as assigned by supervisor.
• Prepares items according to standardized recipes with safe handling.
• Operates institutional food prep equipment as directed.
• Sets up the food tray line and assembles resident trays per diet cards.
• Delivers trays and assists with tray cart logistics throughout the facility.
• Maintains dishwashing and sanitation procedures; reports equipment problems.
• Assists with nourishment deliveries and keeps workspaces clean and safe.
• Communicates with supervisor and participates in inspections and surveys.
