Job Description:
  • Pass menus to appropriate patients according to name and room number, and present a positive image to customers.
  • Portion food for tray line.
  • Stock and restock tray line stations with food supplies.
  • Serve at the tray line station during mealtime.
  • Assist in loading trays onto meal trucks.
  • Prepare and deliver patient between-meal nourishments and tube feedings.
  • Inventory par stock for designated nursing units.
  • Deliver late trays and retrieve trays from patient care areas.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas.
  • Scrape dishes and load into dishwasher.
  • Reset tray line for next meal.
  • Work to improve departmental quality.
  • Work under the direction of lead diet aide and supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to read English and follow instructions.
  • Ability to read and write at level three as per hospital standards.
  • Good communication skills for patient and hospital contacts.
