Job summary

The Brook Hospital Dupont in Louisville, KY is seeking a Dietary Aide/ Food Services Associate to support patient meal preparation, tray delivery, and dining room upkeep. You will help stock kitchen and cafeteria supplies, operate the dish machine, and assist in meal service with attention to sanitation and safety.

The Brook Hospital Dupont is seeking a Dietary Aide/ Food Services Associate to join our team:

The Food Services Associate is responsible for the following: Assisting with preparing the salad bar, if applicable, maintaining and adequate supply of beverages, ensuring the cafeteria and dining room remain clean at all times, assisting in the preparation and delivery of patient meals and room supplies, operating the dish machine, assisting the cook as required and stocking kitchen necessities on each floor as required and stocking cafeteria with needed items.

Qualifications

• Comply with established guidelines for sanitation and safety
• Obtain the tray count by unit for each breakfast, lunch and dinner meal. Assist the cook in preparing each meal tray
• Set up dessert bar
• Ensure the salad bar displays an attractive and tasteful appearance
• Washes dishes and maintains the dish room area in a clean and orderly fashion
• Utilize portion control guidelines when preparing food
• Record dish machine temperatures on daily log after each meal, and record sanitizer strength in the morning daily
• Follow cleaning assignments of the dining room and food preparation area daily\
• Maintain an adequate supply of beverages and ensure coffee pots remain full
• Interact well with patients in the serving line providing good customer service and offer assistance when needed
• Encourage a harmonious working relationship in the department as well as with all employees of the facility
• Report any equipment malfunction immediately to the Food Service Cook/Supervisor, Cook or Dietary Director
• Clean tables and chairs after lunch and mop cafeteria floor
• Ensure coffee and paper goods orders for units and departments are done
• Make sure all units are stocked with milk and snacks each day, including HS stacks for special diets
• Other duties as assigned and every other weekend work is required
