Job summary

Cameron Nursing Center in Independence, MO is seeking a dedicated kitchen aide to support meals for residents. You will assist with ordering, storage, and food preparation under supervision, and help cooks with daily tasks to ensure smooth service.

Responsibilities include portioning nourishments, desserts, and beverages, following production guidelines, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to meal schedules. Prior experience is preferred, but a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• One year of work in a large-scale cooking operation preferred.

• Completes pre‑preparation as needed including washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits.
• Follows the cleaning schedule; cleans equipment and work area after each use; washes floors.
• Washes dishes and silverware; assists with cleaning of kitchen as assigned.
• Assumes responsibility for meeting meal schedules.
• Other duties may change or be assigned at any time.

Responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the preparation, service, and clean up for meals served to residents in the nursing center. Maintains an attractive and sanitary dining room, meal service and delivery.

• Follows the cleaning schedule; Cleans the equipment and work area after each use; Sweeps and mops kitchen floors as assigned; Takes trash to dumpster as assigned; Washes pots and pans as assigned.


• Assumes responsibility for meeting meal schedules.


• Washes dishes and silverware according to dishwashing procedure; Puts clean dishes and silverware away; Assists with cleaning of equipment, dishes, silverware and kitchen as assigned.
