Job summary

Aztec Healthcare in New Mexico is seeking a Part-Time Kitchen Aide to support the dining services for residents. You will assist with food preparation, service, and cleanup in a nursing center, ensuring an attractive, sanitary dining area and on-time meal delivery.

Responsibilities include following production sheets, assisting cooks, preparing nourishments, desserts and beverages, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness according to schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• One year of work in a large-scale cooking operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with food ordering, storage and preparation as designated by the supervisor.
• Assists cooks as directed by the supervisor.
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entree foods into dishes; pours beverages.
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.
• Completes pre-preparation as needed including washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits to prepare for use; slices meat and measures or weighs for menu compliance and nutrition accuracy.
• Follows the cleaning schedule; cleans equipment and work area after each use; sweeps and mops kitchen floors; takes trash to dumpster; washes pots and pans as assigned.
• Assumes responsibility for meeting meal schedules.
• Washes dishes and silverware; puts clean dishes away; assists with cleaning of equipment and kitchen as assigned.
• Other duties may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
