Job summary

Magnolia Creek Assisted Living is seeking a Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will assist with meal preparation, serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience in a compassionate, team-oriented environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and a genuine desire to work with the elderly; food safety knowledge and strong communication are essential. This role supports our residents daily with care and respect.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a food service is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes, utensils, and equipment.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents during meal setup and serving, ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including storage and sanitation.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food, check inventory, and report shortages.
• Team Collaboration: Work with dietary team to run kitchen and dining areas smoothly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Previous experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required)
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
