Job summary

Symphony Manor at Lancaster seeks a Dietary Aide to support resident health through meal preparation, service, and sanitation. You will help provide high-quality meals in a clean, safe dining environment and interact with residents to enhance their dining experience.

Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals per diet orders, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and following safety and HIPAA policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Employment Certificate/Permit required where applicable.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Physical stamina for constant activity.
• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior food service, hospitality, serving, or restaurant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation and delivery of meals to residents per department policy and assignment.
• Adheres to resident diet orders, textures/modifications, and menu preferences during prep and service.
• Performs duties during shift in compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Assists in care and maintenance of kitchen environment and equipment.
• Participates in staff meetings and inservices.
• Interacts with residents/family about meal service quality.
• Uses electronic timekeeping as directed.
• Arrives on time and works as scheduled.
• Follows facility dress code and wears name tag.
• Follows policy regarding devices and computers.

Position Overview:

Dietary Aides play a key role in supporting resident health and satisfaction through meal preparation, service, and sanitation.

In this role, you will:

• Assist with meal preparation and service according to dietary guidelines
• Ensure residents receive meals that meet their preferences and needs
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
• Interact with residents to provide a positive dining experience
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards

Responsibilities

1. Assists in the preparation and delivery of meals to residents according to department policy and position assignment.
2. Adheres to the resident’s diet order, texture/consistency modifications, and menu preferences during the preparation and service of food items and beverages.
3. Performs all responsibilities of the designated position assignment during the scheduled shift in accordance with all safety regulations and standards of practice.
4. Assists in care and maintenance of kitchen environment and equipment.
5. Regularly contributes to, and actively participates in, facility and department staff meetings and inservices.
6. May interact and communicate with residents/family members regarding meal service quality.
7. Utilizes electronic timekeeping system as directed.
8. Arrives to work on time, regularly, and works as scheduled.
9. Recognizes and follows the dress code of the facility including wearing name tag at all times.
10. Follows policy and procedure regarding all electronic devices, computers, tablets, etc.
11. Supports and abides by Symphony Manor’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
12. Abides by Symphony Manor’s code of conduct, compliance and HIPAA policies.
13. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, management staff or Administrator.

This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.

The starting hourly rate for this position falls between $16.00 and $17.00 per hour. Exact hourly placement within this range is determined in good faith based on a candidate's relevant food service history, long-term care certifications, and overall experience.
