Job summary

Plaza West Healthcare & Rehab Center in Topeka, KS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meals for patients and staff. You will assist the cook, prepare nourishments, and help with desserts, salads, and beverages in a long-term care setting.

This position emphasizes sanitation, organization, and safety, with opportunities to contribute to a caring dietary team. Prior food service or long-term care experience is preferred; strong communication is valued.

Qualifications

• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand English for business necessity.
• Basic understanding of sanitation, organization and safety.
• Prior experience in food service preferred.
• Prior experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists cook as directed by the food service director.
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours beverages.

Performs a variety of tasks usually not requiring cooking skills in the preparation, service, and clean up for meals served to patients and staff in the nursing center and other special events.
