Job summary

Recover-Care Heartland in Shawnee, KS is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to assist in preparing, serving, and cleaning up meals for patients and staff in the nursing center and events.

You will follow menus and safety guidelines, assist the cook, label nourishments, portions, and beverages, while maintaining sanitation and accuracy in daily tasks. Prior food service or long-term care experience is preferred, and strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Must communicate clearly in verbal and written English.
• Read and understand English for business needs.
• Knowledge of sanitation, organization, and safety.
• Food service experience preferred.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist cook as directed by the food service director.
• Prepare and label nourishments according to procedures.
• Prepare and portion desserts, salads and non-entrée foods; pour beverages.

Performs a variety of tasks usually not requiring cooking skills in the preparation, service, and clean up for meals served to patients and staff in the nursing center and other special events.

GENERAL DUTIES

• Assists cook as directed by the food service director
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours beverages
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS

• The dietary aide candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand English for business necessity.
• Basic understanding of sanitation, organization and safety.
• Prior experience in food service preferred.
• Prior experience in long-term care preferred
