Job summary

Apollo Health and Rehabilitation Center in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist with meal preparation, service, and cleanup for patients, while following center procedures and diet lists.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of tasks usually not requiring cooking skills in the preparation, service, and clean up for meals served to patients in the nursing center
• Assists cook as directed by the food service director
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours beverages
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate
• Sweeps and mops kitchen floors as assigned
• Washes dishes and silverware according to dishwashing procedure
• Puts clean dishes and silverware away
• Maintains clean, neat, and orderly work areas
• Does cleaning assignments
• Takes trash to dumpster if assigned
• Works on meal tray serving line
• Reads and follows tray tickets, including therapeutic/specialty diets when serving meals
• Serves meal trays to patient and pours beverages for patients when assigned to dining room
• Pushes food carts to appropriate patient care areas
• Communicates with patients during meal times when serving in dining areas
• Working knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
