Job summary

The Lodge at Saginaw in Saginaw, TX is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide / Kitchen Staff member to join full-time. You will prepare soups, stocks, sauces, and a variety of items per recipes, ensuring quality and timely service for meals.

Ideal candidates will have at least three years of cooking experience in hospitality, strong English communication, and the ability to follow standardized recipes and dietary orders. Excellent benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Three years of cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution.
• Ability to follow recipes and special diet orders.
• Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
• Ability to plan and organize work and interpret instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare soups, stocks, sauces, and roasts per recipes.
• Prepare sauteed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items per recipes.
• Prepare or direct preparation of all food following recipes and diet orders.
• Plan production to coordinate with meal serving hours while preserving quality and appearance.
• Determine amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and obtain from storage in time.
• Maintain dependability and punctuality as outlined in Attendance Policy.

Position and Schedule

• Kitchen Staff/ Dietary Aide
• Full-Time

Responsibilities

• Prepare all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises and roast items per standardized recipes
• Prepares and serves all sauteed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items per standardized recipes
• Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders
• Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved
• Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production
• Also must maintain dependability and punctuality as outlined in Attendance Policy

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and following instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic
• Ability to understand measurements and conversions
• A minimum of three years of experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution
• Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment
