Grande Pointe Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Culinary Aide to join our team.

Pay Rate: $13

Purpose/Belief Statement

The position of Culinary Aide exists to provide routine support in the Culinary Department. This position must work effectively with team members to ensure work is accomplished in a timely, effective, and safe manner. The role also involves managing available resources.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

1. Serve food from tray line or steam table according to diet and preferences.
2. Set up tray or plate for food service.
3. Ensure menu accuracy for each resident’s meal.
4. Ensure meal is complete and presentable.
5. Transport carts to nursing stations in a timely manner.
6. Collect and return dishes after meal completion.
7. Monitor residents’ personal effects and report to supervisor for return.
8. Sanitize plateware, silverware, glassware, and utensils according to procedure.
9. Complete cleaning tasks, including pots, pans, and utensils.
10. Remove trash, sweep, and mop floors.
11. Clean or set up steam-tables before or after tray line service.
12. Assist in salad, dessert, snack, and nourishment prep and delivery.
13. Clean resident dining areas.
14. Deliver late meals or menu alterations to nursing stations.
15. Assist nursing staff in meal delivery.
16. Support cooks and preparatory cooks as needed.
17. Create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment, ensuring high-quality culinary care.
18. Meet residents’ food service needs promptly, accurately, and compassionately.
19. Follow departmental, center, and corporate policies, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
20. Participate in training, education, and orientation programs to maintain quality of care.
21. Perform other activities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements

1. High school diploma or G.E.D.
2. Experience in healthcare or service environment preferred.
3. Experience involving independent decision-making advantageous.
4. Compassionate and enthusiastic personality.
5. ServSafe certification required.
