Job summary

Avalon Care Center Portland, in Portland, OR, seeks a part-time kitchen assistant to wash dishes, assist with food preparation and meal service, and maintain clean dining areas. This role offers a consistent schedule and a single on-site work location with competitive pay and benefits.

You will ensure accurate portions, monitor temperatures, assist with tray setup, and track meal counts. Requirements include a current Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification, ability to read and communicate

Qualifications

• Current Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification (as required).
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work well with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to pass required screenings and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes
• Assist with food preparation and meal service
• Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen and dining areas
• Prepare tray line and service equipment for meals
• Ensure accurate portions and meal items are served
• Monitor food temperatures and sanitation standards
