Job summary

South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to assist licensed nursing staff and support residents with daily living activities on a hospital-like care floor. This full-time role requires empathy, reliability and excellent communication with residents and families.

Responsibilities include helping residents dress, bathe, eat, and move safely, documenting care and reporting changes to supervisors.

Qualifications

• State-approved geriatric nursing assistant training completed.
• Prior geriatric nursing aide experience preferred; registration with state registry required.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and document care given.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The CNA assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Caregiver:

• Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
• Gives treatment, performs tests, carries out procedures and collects specimens as instructed.
• Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures and specimens when indicated.
• Transfers, transports and escorts residents as needed.
• Answer signal lights promptly.
• Changes bed linens, makes beds, and keeps rooms clean and orderly.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• Successful completion from a state approved geriatric nursing assistant training program. Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred. Registration with state registry required.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to document care given.
• High school diploma or equivalent

Salary: $17.50 per hour

Shift Differential: $2/hr for Weekday Evenings and Nights, and $3.50/hr for all weekend shifts!
