Job summary

Trillium Woods in Plymouth, MN is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to prepare and serve therapeutic diet trays for Health Center residents. The role supports the dietary team in delivering meals, desserts, and salads per posted menus, while maintaining clean and sanitary dining areas.

Responsibilities include transporting food to the Health Center, setting and clearing tables, and ensuring accurate meal orders in the POS system.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years or older.
• Previous experience in nursing home, hospital, senior living, or healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to follow instructions, dietary orders, and communicate effectively.
• Strong attention to detail when following food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
• Ability to communicate with residents to take meal orders accurately and enter orders into POS.

Job Summary

The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare therapeutic desserts and salads as required.

Serve meals in the Health Center.

Set up and clear tables in the Health Center dining room.

Transport hot and cold foods to and from the Health Center.

Transport necessary food service supplies and non-food items to and from the Health Center.

Maintain equipment, workstations, and dining areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition.

Other Duties:

Maintains standards for personal appearance and cleanliness.

Maintains safe and sanitary conditions.

Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.

Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Must be 16 years or older.

• Previous experience in a nursing home, hospital, senior living, or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to follow instructions, dietary orders, and communicate effectively.
• Strong attention to detail when following food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
• Ability to communicate with residents to take meal orders accurately and enter orders into a Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful when assisting older adults.
• Dependable and team-oriented, with a strong focus on resident satisfaction and quality service.

Physical Requirements

Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; lifting weight requirement will not be more than 50 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to see, hear, and speak.

All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a criminal background check, drug test, tuberculosis skin test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.
