Responsibilities

• Assist with food service functions under the direction of the Dietitian/Director of Food Services.
• Follow established food policies and procedures.
• Assist with serving and delivering meals and snacks.
• Help with cleaning of kitchen areas, equipment, utensils and dishes.
• Set up meal trays, carts and dining areas as instructed.
• Distribute menus and ensure meal portions meet guidelines.
• Maintain a sanitary, safe and organized work environment.
• Support daily cleaning duties and waste removal as directed.
• Assist with food preparation and basic food handling tasks.
• Report shortages or equipment needs to the supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

As a Dietary Aide, you will provide assistance in all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the facility's Dietitian/Director of Food Services as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring that food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assist with the service and delivery of food trays to designated areas, cleaning of the kitchen per established protocols, and proper washing and cleaning of food utensils and dishes.
• Prepare and deliver snacks as directed.
• Serve meals in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Serve meals that are appetizing and palatable in appearance.
• Assist in daily cleaning duties as assigned, including work tables, meat blocks, and refrigerators/freezers.
• Sweep and mop floors as directed.
• Wash and clean utensils, dishes, and cooking items according to established policies and procedures.
• Carry out garbage and keep the work area clean, dry, and free of hazards.
• Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed.
• Collect and distribute menus as instructed.
• Other duties as assigned.
