Job summary

Bedford Care Centers is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to support all dietary operations in our Mississippi facility. You will assist with food preparation, cooking, serving meals, and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.

The role includes following menus, ensuring diet accuracy, safe food handling, and collaborating with nursing staff to meet resident preferences. On-the-job training is provided and a drug screen/background check are required.

Qualifications

• Some experience in large-scale cooking services preferred.
• On-the-job training is provided.
• Must be able to read and write at a level necessary to accomplish job duties.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and have a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check

Responsibilities

• Assists with checking in groceries, other supplies, storing food, other duties as instructed
• Assists in the preparation, set ups and serving meals, snacks, drinks and loading food carts
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, floors, dishes, utensils, dishwashing area and any other areas in the Dietary Department or Dining Rooms as needed
• Assists in checking food trays for menu and diet accuracy and for Resident’s preferences
• Assists with proper storage of foods and supplies and communication regarding food and supplies availability
• Assists with cooking, operating dishwasher or other duties as requested and/or assigned
• Delivers food carts to Nursing Stations for service of meals
