Job summary

Bedford Care Centers is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare meals in accordance with Diet Orders, menu specifications, and applicable regulations, under supervision of the Dietary Supervisor and Manager. You will receive grocery orders, help maintain inventory, and uphold high standards of quality and hygiene in food service; communicate courteously with Residents and staff.

On-the-job training will be provided.
Must be in good physical condition, able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions to accomplish job duties; must pass drug screens and have a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check

Responsibilities

Immediately ensures any liquids on floor are cleaned; reports other Safety Hazards to Maintenance Supervisor
If requested, serves on Safety Committee and participates in Safety Meetings and Safety Audits
Complies with Infection Control Policies; reports contact with infectious disease to Infection Control Nurse
Assists with food orders, receiving and checking in supplies, storing food and maintaining inventory

Job Summary:

Responsible for overall preparation of meals compliant with Diet Orders, menu specifications, Company Policies, State and Federal Laws, Dietary/Sanitary Regulations under supervision of Dietary Supervisor and Manager; receives incoming grocery orders and supplies; assists with maintaining adequate inventory and accurate inventory records; maintains high standards of quality in food preparation and service; must communicate courteously, respectfully with Employees, Residents and others; must maintain high degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene
