Job summary

Bedford Care Centers in Mississippi seeks a responsible cook to prepare meals that meet diet orders and menu specs under dietary supervisor and manager. You will receive grocery orders, help maintain inventory, and uphold sanitary standards while communicating courteously with staff and residents.

The role requires reliability, ability to read and follow instructions, and willingness to pass drug screening and background checks.

Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale cooking services is preferred; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Must be in good physical condition.
• Must read, write and follow oral and written instructions to accomplish job duties.
• Must pass drug screens.
• Must have a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Immediately ensures any liquids on floor are cleaned; reports other Safety Hazards to Maintenance Supervisor.
• If requested, serves on Safety Committee and participates in Safety Meetings and Safety Audits.
• Complies with Infection Control Policies; reports contact with infectious disease to Infection Control Nurse.
• Assists with food orders, receiving and checking in supplies, storing food and maintaining inventory.

Job Summary:

Responsible for overall preparation of meals compliant with Diet Orders, menu specifications, Company Policies, State and Federal Laws, Dietary/Sanitary Regulations under supervision of Dietary Supervisor and Manager; receives incoming grocery orders and supplies; assists with maintaining adequate inventory and accurate inventory records; maintains high standards of quality in food preparation and service; must communicate courteously, respectfully with Employees, Residents and others; must maintain high degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene
