Job summary

The Peak Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring a Dietary Aide/Server at HHS to assist in meal service, food prep, and sanitation in a healthcare environment. The role supports residents and patients, ensuring dietary requirements are met and safety standards are followed.

Qualifications

• Experience in assisted living or dietary aide preferred; food industry background is a plus.
• Familiar with food safety standards such as JCAHO guidelines and sanitation practices.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent customer service with geriatric residents.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and follow PPE guidelines.
• Experience in nursing homes, hospitals or similar healthcare environments.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and follow lifting techniques.
• Knowledge of nutrition principles relevant to senior care settings.

• Support the dietary department by bussing tables, clearing trays, and ensuring a tidy environment
• Adhere to food safety protocols, including proper handling of food and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal service and preparation
• Follow established procedures for manual handling and safe lifting practices to prevent injury

Skills

• Prior assisted living or dietary aide experience preferred; food industry or culinary background is a plus
• Knowledge of food production, preparation, and serving techniques
• Familiarity with food safety standards such as JCAHO guidelines and sanitation practices
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work compassionately with geriatric patients or residents
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and adhere to workplace safety protocols
• Basic math skills for portioning and inventory management
• Experience working in nursing homes, hospitals, or similar healthcare environments is highly desirable
