The Gardens of Trent in New Bern, NC is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our culinary team. You will assist in preparing, portioning, and serving nutritious meals to residents in accordance with dietary plans.

Responsibilities include maintaining kitchen cleanliness, following food safety protocols, and supporting residents during meals to ensure a positive dining experience. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in food service preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

• Food Safety: Follow food safety protocols for storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies; report shortages.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the dietary team to ensure smooth operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.

Qualifications:
