Apple Rehab Middletown is a 70-bed skilled nursing facility in Middletown, CT, seeking a Dietary Aide to assist in meal preparation and dining area cleanup. You will handle receiving, rotating, and storing supplies while ensuring daily interactions with residents.

Responsibilities include infection control, sanitation, proper food handling, and reporting violations to a supervisor to maintain safety and quality of service.

Qualifications

• Mobility required: walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop and stretch.
• Stock groceries on shelves of various heights and lift large items up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to write and record data, and read/follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Remain calm and work efficiently in emergencies.
• Communicate professionally with residents, staff, and family.

Job Description

Dietary Aide

The Dietary Aide assists in preparation of meals and snacks as well as clean up of dining areas. Assists with receiving, rotating and storing of supplies and food. The Dietary Aide has daily interactions with the residents of our community. Helps to clean work areas, wash dishes, pans and utensils.

The Dietary Aide complies with infection control, safety and sanitation functions of the facility. Ensures that food storage and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner, and that equipment and supplies are properly maintained. The Dietary Aide handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations, and reports immediately all violations of safety or sanitation rules to supervisor.
