Job summary

Broadway Care & Rehab Center is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to support residents with nutritious meals and meals service in a senior living setting. You will prepare food trays for various diets, deliver meals to patient care units, and maintain a clean, organized tray line and kitchen area.

The role emphasizes patient care, safety, and teamwork within a larger care network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• COVID-19 vaccination required to apply.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
• Deliver items to resident care units and return carts to kitchen.
• Maintain clean, organized tray line and kitchen areas.
• Prepare and portion salads, desserts, and nourishments as needed.
• Oversee dishwashers and log wash temperatures.
• Observe infection prevention and control practices.

Essential Functions of Dietary Aide

• Prepare food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
• Prepare and deliver items as requested by resident care units or residents.
• Maintain tray line in a clean, neat, and organized manner.
• Prepare special diet foods as necessary.
• Deliver food carts to patient care units. Return carts to kitchen at designated times.
• Load and oversee dishwashers and log and record wash/rinse temperatures.
• Wash specified items by hand. Example – Pots, pans, knives.
• Dispose of trash and garbage in appropriate manner.
• Put clean dishes and utensils away
• Mop floors as scheduled and as necessary.
• Clean walk-in refrigerators and storage areas. Maintain dry storage areas by logging temperatures daily and handling the unpacking, dating, and rotating of food and non-food supplies.
• Assist in preparing salads, desserts, and other nourishments.
• Performs special cleaning duties as assigned by the Dietary Supervisor
• Maintain good working relationship within the department and with other departments.
• Treat residents and guests with respect and dignity.
• Always observe infection prevention and control practices.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
• Perform all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Perform other task and duties as assigned.

Qualifications of Dietary Aide

• High School Diploma or general equivalency is preferred
• 1 year of experience is preferred
• Candidates must have covid vaccination
• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
