Job summary

Oak Park Care Center in Missouri is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide for part-time, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm shifts. You will prepare and deliver meals, maintain tray lines, assist with special diets, and help ensure resident safety and dignity in daily dining activities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
  • Deliver items to resident care units and residents.
  • Maintain a clean, organized tray line.
  • Prepare special diet foods as necessary.
  • Deliver carts to units and return them to the kitchen.
  • Load dishwashers and log temperatures.
  • Wash items by hand and manage kitchen cleanliness.
  • Dispose of trash appropriately and store clean dishes.
  • Maintain storage areas and log temperatures daily.
  • Assist in preparing salads, desserts, and nourishments.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Dietary Supervisor.

Essential Functions of Dietary Aide:
  • Prepare food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
  • Prepare and deliver items as requested by resident care units or residents.
  • Maintain tray line in a clean, neat, and organized manner.
  • Prepare special diet foods as necessary.
  • Deliver food carts to patient care units.Return carts to kitchen at designated times.
  • Load and oversee dishwashers and log and record wash/rinse temperatures.
  • Wash specified items by hand.Example – Pots, pans, knives.
  • Dispose of trash and garbage in appropriate manner.
  • Put clean dishes and utensils away
  • Mop floors as scheduled and as necessary.
  • Clean walk-in refrigerators and storage areas.Maintain dry storage areas by logging temperatures daily and handling the unpacking, dating, and rotating of food and non-food supplies.
  • Assist in preparing salads, desserts, and other nourishments.
  • Performs special cleaning duties as assigned by the Dietary Supervisor
  • Maintain good working relationship within the department and with other departments.
  • Treat residents and guest with respect and dignity.
  • Always observe infection prevention and control practices.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
  • Perform all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Perform other task and duties as assigned.
Qualifications of Dietary Aide:
  • High School Diploma or general equivalency is preferred
  • 1 year of experience is preferred
  • Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
