Allina Health's United Hospital in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Dietary Aide to support patient meals, cafeteria and catering services. You will follow established menus, prepare and plate meals, and ensure food safety throughout service.

The role is 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period) with day shifts, weekends on a rotating basis, and opportunities to grow in a supportive, union-represented environment. Must be 16+; HS diploma encouraged; pay range shown in posting.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age with education and/or experience as listed on the job description.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED with one year of food service experience.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in food service and/or sanitation standards preferred with high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and delivery of meals to patients, cafeteria, catering and others.
• Assemble patient food trays according to dietary needs and deliver trays.
• Maintain food safety by proper cooling, reheating and labeling; restock and clean service areas.

Uses proper cooking, cooling and reheating techniques to ensure food safety. Washes all dishes, trays, cookware, carts and utensils. May also operate a cash register. **Principle Responsibilities*** Assists in preparation and set-up of assigned food for patients and employees. + Follows cycle menus, modified menus and standardized recipes when preparing food. + Assembles patient food trays according to dietary needs. + Delivers and retrieves patient food trays. + Prepares items for meal service in cafeteria. + During meal service, correctly restocks product and maintains area. + May set up catered meals and snacks as scheduled. + May operate cash register.* Uses proper cooking, cooling and reheating techniques to ensure food safety. + Checks temperatures regularly prior to serving food. + Labels, dates, covers and stores food properly. + Utilizes sanitizing techniques for food, self and equipment. + Disposes of garbage and waste properly. + Washes all dishes, trays, cookware, carts and utensils.* Assists in putting away grocery orders.* Other duties as assigned.**Required Qualifications*** Must be 16 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description**Preferred Qualifications*** High school diploma or GED with one year of food service experience* 0 to 2 years of experience in food service and/or sanitation standards required with high school diploma or GED**Physical Demands*** Medium Work:* Lifting weight up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently**Pay Range**### Pay Range: $19.96 to $26.15 per hour### The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range.
