Job summary

Allina Health is hiring a Dietary Aide to assist with meal prep, plating, and delivery to patients, cafeteria, and catering. You’ll follow cycle menus and standardized recipes, ensuring proper food safety and temperatures while supporting a positive dining experience for patients and staff.

Responsibilities include restocking during service, operating a cash register when needed, and maintaining a clean, organized work area. Earners will support our mission across Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with one year of food service experience.
• Ability to follow cycle menus and standardized recipes.
• Must be at least 16 years old with basic competency requirements.

Job Description

Assist with the preparation and delivery of meals to all service areas including patients, cafeteria, catering and others. Uses proper cooking, cooling and reheating techniques to ensure food safety. Washes all dishes, trays, cookware, carts and utensils. May also operate a cash register.

Principle Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation and set-up of assigned food for patients and employees.
• Follows cycle menus, modified menus and standardized recipes when preparing food.
• Assembles patient food trays according to dietary needs.
• Delivers and retrieves patient food trays.
• Prepares items for meal service in cafeteria.
• During meal service, correctly restocks product and maintains area.
• May set up catered meals and snacks as scheduled.
• May operate cash register.
• Uses proper cooking, cooling and reheating techniques to ensure food safety.
• Checks temperatures regularly prior to serving food.
• Labels, dates, covers and stores food properly.
• Utilizes sanitizing techniques for food, self and equipment.
• Disposes of garbage and waste properly.
• Washes all dishes, trays, cookware, carts and utensils.
• Assists in putting away grocery orders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Must be 16 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with one year of food service experience 0 to 2 years of experience in food service and/or sanitation standards required with high school diploma or GED

Physical Demands

Medium Work: Lifting weight up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range Pay Range: $19.96 to $26.15 per hour The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
